Dr Irina Hollington

Dr Hollington specialises in pain medicine with interests in chronic pelvic, abdominal and perianal pain conditions affecting women and men. She is also a specialist anaesthetist, sub-specialising in anaesthesia for general, colorectal and spinal surgery.
Dr Hollington trained in anaesthesia, intensive care and chronic pain in Germany, Switzerland and Australia, completing her Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) and her Fellowship in Chronic Pain Medicine (FFPMANZCA). She enjoys having a wide and varied practice with multi-disciplinary teams, sharing high quality evidence-based information and collaboration on case management to facilitate access to high quality care and best outcomes for women and men with a wide range of visceral and pelvic pain conditions.
Dr Hollington provides comprehensive and interdisciplinary pelvic pain management in public and private, recognising that a variety and combination of medical, pharmacological, psychological, physical and social factors play a role in female and male pelvic pain conditions. She is part of the Adelaide Pelvic Pain Network, an informal group of individuals, all who have a specialist interest in the management of patients with Persistent Pelvic Pain as well as a past consultant at the statewide pelvic mesh clinic.
She is a Board Member at the Pelvic pain foundation of Australia, an organisation that promotes access to education, funding, support, research and improving access to treatment and services for pelvic pain suffererers.
Dr Hollington has a strong interest in teaching medical students and doctors in training and teaches on courses for FANZCA, FRACS and FFPMANZCA. She enjoys giving public talks to patients, clinicians and specialists across Australia.
